Please don't use this funeral home. When my grandmother died on April 29th, hospice transported her body directly to the funeral home, which means the body had very little time to decay. When they opened the casket, she was so unrecognizable. Everyone that knew her said the same "That doesn't look anything like Marie". They stretched her skin so much that you could see the inside of her nose. Her forehead was elongated and her makeup was horrible. She looked so different that I really thought they had switched the bodies and went so far as to contact the family of the lady that was buried right before her to make sure they believed they had a funeral for the right person. Finally we received pictures from the person that did her nails just days before she died and had taken a picture of her hands. She also took pictures of her hands at the funeral. They matched up. So the only way to identify her was her hands. So please save yourself some unnecessary pain and be more selective on the funeral home and the embalmer. Pay more if you have to. But don't use them. One more thing, make sure to tell them to make sure they take special care to make your love one look as close as possible to what they looked like in real life. If they can't do it, choose to have a closed casket.
